General description:

The scope of the position includes the MS & US Science departments, including the IB science subjects. The Science Lab Assistant is expected to support teachers during classes as well as to help facilitate instruction for individual students, small groups as well as whole classes. The position involves supporting students in designing and carrying out independent Science investigations. 

The Science Lab Assistant supports the work of Science teachers by ensuring that the students make the best use of the time they spend in the laboratory and use equipment safely. Preparing, cleaning, maintaining and storing of materials and equipment is also a key component of the role. 

The Science Lab Assistant will participate in Upper School staff meetings and stay updated on MS matters through the MS Science CLL. The Science Lab Assistant will avail of professional development when appropriate and relevant, and may be asked to perform some general faculty functions such as supervision duties.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and assistance to both MS & US teachers and students during laboratory investigations
• Support individual students on research projects
• Set up, break down, clean and put away laboratory equipment for investigations to be carried out in the Science classrooms
• Ensure that equipment is functioning properly, well organized, and ready to use
• Maintain chemical and equipment inventory for both MS & US classrooms

Knowledge, skills and attitude required:

• Be enthusiastic for work with 11-18 year old students
• Have strong organizational skills
• Have excellent communication skills in speaking and writing (English and Czech preferred) 
• Work with personal safety and the safety of others in mind
• Have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Able to work with a database, data logging equipment and other scientific equipment
• Able to maintain, clean and organize work spaces
• Be knowledgeable in appropriate methods of safe storage and disposal of chemicals

Education and training required:

• BA (MA preferred) in Science
• Teaching certification 
• Previous hands-on experience with teaching Science to MS and/or HS age students
• A background in computer applications

General description:

The main role is to support and assist students aged 3 to 5 years, according to the developmental needs of students and the teachers’ guidance and direction. In addition, Aides at ISP are responsible for preparing materials for classroom and instructional use as well as performing lunch and recess duties according to student safety regulations. 

Key responsibilities:

• Reinforce and support instruction to individuals or small groups of students 
• Assist students’ learning and social-emotional development by providing proper examples, emotional support, caring attitude, supporting children in conflict resolution and general guidance
• Assume responsibilities for the classroom in case of teacher’s/aide’s absence
• Prepare materials for classroom and instructional use
• Provide support to the classroom teacher by operating various educational tools / devices as needed, distribute and collect papers and supplies, confer with teachers concerning programs and materials to meet students’ needs
• Conduct general clean-up of classroom
• Perform lunch and recess duties on a daily basis
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development as required by the supervisors

Knowledge, skills and dispositions required:

• To be legally entitled to work in the Czech Republic (starting August 2023)
• Fluent in English
• Passion, commitment and enthusiasm for working with children
• Experience working with children (e.g. teacher, camp counselor, nanny)
• International and/or multi-cultural experience (preferred)
• Self-driven & proactive attitude
• Time management and ability to prioritize

Experience and education required:

• University degree and / or teaching qualification preferred
• Any relevant teaching qualifications are an advantage

General Description:

To maintain a safe and secure environment for students, their parents, school employees and other community members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prevent access of unauthorised groups and individuals onto the campus and in the building.
• Ensure high security standards of the ISP campus, including but not limited to the security of our students, employees, visitors and other constituencies
• Perform regular patrols within the ISP campus
• Provide security services at the given posts according the schedule
• Coordinate traffic within the ISP parking lot
• Monitor technical support systems (EPS, EZS, ACS, CCTV, etc)
• Proactively pursue preventive security measures as a part of ISP’s program of continuous improvement of security standards
• Participate as a member of the ISP fire-guard team
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Dispositions Required:

• Fluent in Czech and elementary knowledge of English (higher level preferred)
• Strong commitment to security rules
• Willingness to work in flexible hours – including weekend shifts 
• Good physical condition and stress resistance
• Computer skills – general user knowledge
• Proactive, committed and reliable personality

Experience and Education Required:

• High School diploma
• Working experience within Police, Army or other relevant security services is an advantage
