Overall Purpose of the Position

We are looking for a passionate Library Specialist to support the operations of the Learning Innovation Hub (The Hub), our school library and design spaces. This essential position assists with the organisation, maintenance, and day-to-day management of Hub materials, spaces, and people, ensuring that the ISP community has access to necessary resources. The ideal candidate will facilitate a supportive and resource-rich environment, contributing to the overall mission of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively as a member of the ISP’s Community in realising ISP’s Mission;
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere for the community, both virtually and in The Hub;
  • Supervise and guide library technicians and volunteers, promoting effective teamwork within team;
  • Support patrons in the selection of materials and resources;
  • Provide basic research and reference assistance to students and staff;
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting library environment that encourages study, research, and exploration;
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Hub spaces and services. This may include the maintenance (cataloguing, shelving, circulation, inventory, upkeep) and development (acquisition, curation, growth) of the collection and resources;
  • Coordinate the operation of library management systems and other digital platforms;
  • Keep informed of new library practices, technologies, and educational resources to support continuous improvement of library services;
  • Substitute for Hub faculty as required;
  • Work closely with the Hub team to organise events and programs that promote literacy, reading, and technology use among students;
  • Other duties as required.

Experience, Skills & Dispositions Desired

  • Fluency in English (minimum B2, C preferred).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on service to a diverse community of students and staff.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding of cataloguing and experience with library management software.
  • A keen interest in literature, especially children’s and young adult books, and a general understanding of the educational needs and interests of K-12 students.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility and solution-focused attitude.

Education & Training Preferred

  • Minimum of High School Diploma;
  • Experience or certification in Library Technology / Information Science;
  • Experience working in a library (school setting is preferred);
  • Customer-facing work experience preferred.
