Overall Purpose of the Position

The Educational Technology Coordinator is a pedagogical leader who supports ISP’s Mission, Vision, Strategy and educational aims by the development, training, and documentation of the use of technology at ISP.  Primary areas include support in the use of Toddle, the learning platform at ISP, collating learning data in the ISP data dashboard, guidance and programming for the integration of technology in every classroom, providing up to date training and tools to support learning as well as guidance on safe technology use, including AI. The position works closely with the Network and IT Manager and the wider IT team.

Key Responsibilities

The Educational Technology Coordinator provides leadership and coordination of the use of technology  

Schoolwide. The key areas of focus for the position include: 

  • Supporting Professional learning for all staff in conjunction with the Professional Learning Department.
    • Planning any technology training during new faculty orientation 
    • Planning any technology training during full faculty orientation
  • Providing tools and solutions to support Learning at ISP
    • Lead our ongoing collaboration with Toddle
      • Act as the Primary Point of Contact with Toddle
      • Keep up to date with changes, offerings and updates
      • Provide training for all staff in their use of Toddle
    • Support the development of technology based electives at ISP
  • Providing tools and solutions to support teacher work including Learning collaboratives
  • Provide leadership and support for technology integration in all ISP classrooms 
  • Develop and maintain a plan for Innovation and technology at ISP
    • Develop and maintain a process of review for technology use at ISP
    • Provide leadership on the use of devices at ISP
    • Provide leadership on the use of software at ISP
  • Develop and maintain strategy for ISP on Artificial intelligence (AI)
    • Develop an ISP stance and approach for faculty and students
    • Support Faculty in their understanding and use of AI
    • Develop AI use amongst support staff to support their workloads. 
  • Work as a team with other members of the Innovation hub (librarians, design technology integration specialists) 
  • Manage the ISP Data dashboard 
    • Be responsible for updating the data (with the Professional Learning department) 
    • Training and rolling out the use of the dashboard (with principals) 
    • Support the collection and analysis of assessment data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance student performance.
  • Work with the IT Support team (network manage, IT help) to maintain effective IT support at ISP
    • Assist with annual scheduling and class assignments, as related to the school management systems at ISP (Veracross)
  • Support the Learning Coaches at ISP with appropriate technology to support the IB programme. 
  • Support the practices aligned to ISP Learning Principles & IB Approaches to Teaching & Learning
  • Promote a culture of student digital well-being and mental health awareness within the school community.
    • Develop and support digital citizenship instruction within advisory. 
    • Develop and support online safety at ISP. 
  • Liaise with the Advancement Office to capture and share learning stories that reflect our educational aims and aspirations.
  • Other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Director.

Education & Training Preferred

  • Three or more years of experience as an Educational Technology Coordinator or similar
  • Experience in the implementation of specific Technology plans
  • Experience in Professional Learning communities
  • A knowledge of the Toddle VLE system is an advantage
