Visual Arts

Our Visual Arts programme begins with our earliest learners in ECF 3/4 with the expertise of our Reggio Emilia-trained Atelierista. Supported by a light-filled Atelier and a play-based curriculum, creative exploration is woven into their educational journey.

As students progress through Primary and Middle School, they engage with a wide variety of materials, media and methods, experiment with new ideas, and explore personal expression. Visual Arts are integrated with the PYP and MYP curriculum, empowering students to make connections in their studies and deepen their understanding of art as a tool for learning.

The Upper School MYP Visual Arts & Design are part of the elective programme with course offerings such as Art 1 & 2, Advanced Studio Art, Film Production, Photoshop & Graphic Design, etc.

The US IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts course offers students the opportunity to express themselves in a personal and unique way. This course has several components including a written comparative study. Artworks are developed over a period of two years through a portfolio of original work. Students need to demonstrate a creative and imaginative response through a variety of media and approaches to art. At the end of this course the portfolio is exhibited and assessed by an external examiner.

While we have four beautiful art studios on campus, art extends far beyond these spaces and brings colour and life to our school.  From murals on the wall to rotating art exhibitions in the corridors and dynamic installations that bring our school to life, the visual arts are a cherished and celebrated part of life at ISP.
