Celebrating the Class of 2026

On 30 May, the Class of 2026 gathered at Žofín Palace for ISP's 32nd annual graduation ceremony. Surrounded by family, friends, and teachers, they celebrated the end of their ISP journey and the memories they had built together over the years.

“Persistence, because even though we were really stressed at times, we kept going. Curious, because we ask bold questions and explore deeper. And grateful, because we are grateful for all of the experiences that ISP gave us throughout our time here and also for the teachers that pushed us and the classmates that turned into friends.”

For many graduates, learning how to adapt became one of the defining experiences of Upper School.

‘We came into high school, freshly off the end of online learning, flying high and confident as ever, only to be greeted by a larger workload, harder classes, and stricter teachers. But we pushed through and adapted. Growth happened consistently, day to day. It happened when we did poorly on a test and learned how to recover. It happened during that painful loss at a sports tournament without us even being aware of it.’

At the Graduation ceremony, Upper School Principal, Dr. Eric Sturm, reflected on the life of world-renowned Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, whose success was shaped not only by talent but by a willingness to learn from others.

‘What made Dvořák remarkable was not simply his talent. It was his openness. He understood that growth comes from curiosity, from humility, and from the willingness to learn from people whose experiences are different from your own.’

For the Class of 2026, Dvořák's message felt familiar. Throughout their time at ISP, they have shared classrooms, friendships, projects, performances, and teams with peers from more than 60 nationalities. Those experiences have shown them that some of life's most important lessons come from listening to others and remaining open to perspectives different from their own.

Looking ahead, ISP Director, Dr. Cal Callaway, reflected on the qualities graduates will carry with them beyond ISP:

“As they move forward into their future, they do so as thoughtful problem-solvers with the ability to think across cultures, perspectives, and borders. Their experiences at ISP have prepared them not only to adapt to change, but to contribute meaningfully and make a positive impact wherever their journeys lead.”
