ISP hosts CEESA Rock Band Festival

ISP hosts CEESA Rock Band Festival

From 9 April to 11 April 2026, International School of Prague proudly hosted the CEESA Rock Band Festival for the very first time. The weekend brought together talented young musicians from across the region, with visiting bands traveling from Bucharest, Belgrade, Vilnius, and Warsaw. Students shared their love for music, setting the stage for three unforgettable days of creativity, collaboration, and connection.

ISP bands, Mantra, SinisterOne, and B-Cells, and a number of bands from visiting schools, shone brightly throughout the event, showcasing their talent. Adding to the professional atmosphere, the famous Czech rock band, Noisebleed, performed for all schools in the Main Theatre, offering both inspiration and a high-energy set that showed our students exactly what passion and practice can achieve.

The festival was designed to be as much about learning as it was about performing. Throughout the weekend, students participated in intensive masterclasses, jam sessions, and open mic sessions. These sessions allowed students from different schools to be creative and collaborate on the fly, breaking down barriers and building friendships through music.

"CEESA Rock Band is one of the newer events on the calendar and it really stands out for the passion of the participants and the friendships formed over their love of music. It was so heart warming to see the mutual support of each other and exciting to see the final performances on stage."

Anthony Hennelly, Director of Athletics and Activities

A particular highlight of the experience occurred on Friday, when the participants ventured off-campus to the renowned studio Zkušebny Praha Jižák. This experience in a professional recording environment gave the young musicians a unique glimpse into the music industry. CEESA Rock Band Festival was more than just a series of concerts; it was a celebration of the lasting bonds formed through the universal joy of rock and roll.

“It was so great to see this community of rockers attend our campus to show off their skills. It was particularly heartwarming to see that by the end of the weekend the students didn’t want to leave and wanted to spend more time jamming and making music together. Having sent teams to the previous events over the last three years we were so happy to have hosted the 2026 edition and we are already looking forward to sending our bands to the 2027 event.”
