Together Again: The 2024 ISP Alumni Reunion

On 23 August, we were happy to welcome and reconnect with our wonderful alumni. With 70 attending, ranging from the Class of 1993 to the Class of 2024, the Alumni Reunion was diverse and inclusive. Alumni of all ages attended to reconnect with each other. Hugs and happy greetings filled the air as Alumni chatted with teachers and met old friends once again.

The event started in the Blue Room where Dr. Kimball gave a speech to the audience. He welcomed alumni, introduced the new and improved “Frankie,” ISP’s beloved mascot, and revealed ISP’s future plans of expanding the school to include a STEM building and an Elementary Cafe, among other improvements and new spaces.

From there, alumni headed to the courtyard where, on the way, they could buy hoodies and Cookbooks made by the ISP community. Yearbooks were also laid out for alumni to reminisce about their time at ISP.

The Falcon’s Nest, our new cafeteria run by Thomas Franks, had prepared a delicious buffet for the alumni, along with Unetice Brewery, a local producer of traditional Czech lagers who provided refreshments for the afternoon. Thank you, Unetice, for your generous contributions!

Once their bellies were full, alumni had the option to go to the “Legacy Corner” video booth in the Main Theatre where they could share advice for current ISP students, recount memorable events at ISP, and provide details on how their experiences at ISP shaped their professional lives.

“I would advise current ISP students to not only focus on their school work. Of course, school work is important, but so is exploring what you are interested in, so please make time to do both. Your future self will thank you.” Sophie Pinard, Class of 2022

The Alumni Reunion is not the only place where alumni can get involved at ISP. For example, we were happy to welcome Julien Mikton, an accomplished painter and 2013 alum, to our MS art room last Spring. Julien collaborated with Mr. Dimitrov to teach students about what it means to be a painter. Through these lessons, students were given the task of painting a mural with our mission, “Inspire, Engage, Empower” as a wonderful foundation for their art piece.

ISP loves to engage with alumni and happily welcomes alumni back to campus to reconnect with ISP and inspire current ISP students with alumni stories. If you would like to get involved at ISP, please contact alumni@isp.cz. You are always welcome to reconnect with the ISP community.
