Upper School
Grades 9 - 12
Upper School (US) classes at ISP, rooted in inquiry, build on learners’ innate curiosity. Students develop key knowledge, skills, and understandings in language arts, social studies, mathematics, and the social and physical world surrounding them.
Students also develop their competencies in the areas of music, drama, physical and health education, visual arts, modern languages (French, German, Spanish), and design. Our learning programme develops students’ potential, enabling them to be successful at ISP, as well as in their educational and professional pursuits in the future.
Students in Grades 9 and 10 follow the IB Middle Years Programme. Students in Grades 11 and 12 have a choice to pursue the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or the IB Career-related Programme (CP) in addition to the ISP Diploma. Students choosing the ISP Diploma will have a wide variety of electives from which they can choose. In addition, students in our Upper School have access to classes through GOA, the Global Online Academy.

College and Career Counselling Services
The Upper School at ISP has a dedicated college and career counselling programme to assist students in their post-secondary education and career choices. This support includes guidance on university applications, standardised testing, and career exploration.

The Upper School at ISP is a very warm and welcoming place where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring individual interests and avenues of learning. This environment is facilitated by comfortable, open spaces where students can work together or individually depending on their needs.
International Curriculum
The Upper School at ISP offers three globally recognised curricula: the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme in Grades 9 and 10, the Diploma Programme or the Career-related Programme in Grades 11 and 12. These programmes ensure that students receive a well-rounded education that is recognised worldwide. Additionally, all ISP graduates receive the ISP Diploma, which holds global recognition through our NEASC International Division accreditation.
High-Quality Faculty
The Upper School at ISP attracts experienced and qualified teachers from around the world. The faculty at the Upper School of ISP is highly skilled in delivering the IB MYP and DP curricula while creating an engaging and challenging learning environment. Many of our faculty are workshop leaders, examiners, and curriculum writers in their respective fields.

In this edition of our Student Journalism series, MYP Journalism Elective students Julia and Rebeca dive into the story behind Hoops for Hope, a student-led 3x3 basketball tournament held at ISP last March. They explore the event’s success in raising funds for cancer patients and the plans to improve the tournament for the 2024/2025 school year.

Last week, the International School of Prague (ISP) hosted its first-ever Career Fair, an event designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the complexities of real-world career paths. This ground-breaking initiative brought together 340 Upper School students and over 30 professionals from a variety of industries.

ISP's Upper School Robotics Club is gearing up for two major competitions in early 2025. Combining teamwork and innovation, the teams are designing robots to tackle complex challenges, building on last year’s award-winning success and refining their skills for the season ahead.
