Primary Year Programme @ ISP

Globally recognised, inquiry-based

Early Childhood Foundations  (ECF) 3/4 - 5

Our Early Years Programme is inspired by the experience and philosophy of schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy, and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Framework, where children and adults collaborate as researchers, thinkers and communicators. We embrace an emergent approach to learning, recognising the significance of students’ curiosities taking centre stage in guiding the Units of Inquiry. This student-centric philosophy ensures a rich and engaging educational experience, promoting curiosity, compassion, and a love for learning from the very start.

Our commitment extends beyond exploration to encompass a holistic approach to education. While celebrating each child's unique journey, we also value the importance of skill development through our comprehensive Units of Inquiry, Literacy, and Mathematics programmes. By seamlessly integrating these elements, we empower our young learners to discover their passions while experienced educators help to facilitate a strong foundation in essential skills, setting them on a path towards lifelong success.

Grades 1 - 5

This globally recognised, inquiry-based, and transdisciplinary programme is designed to foster conceptual understanding, social-emotional learning, and transferable skills, which are known in the PYP as the Approaches to Learning (ATL). Within the PYP, a strong focus on international-mindedness is woven into the curriculum and educational experiences to prepare learners to be active, compassionate and lifelong learners who contribute positively to our world as changemakers.

Drawing from the best research and practices of various national systems and enriched by the expertise of international schools, the PYP at ISP offers a relevant, challenging, engaging and meaningful educational programme for all children.

The IB approaches to learning skills (ATL) are grounded in the belief that learning how to learn is fundamental to a person’s life in and out of a school context. In broad terms, IB programmes support learners in developing the key transdisciplinary skills of: Thinking, Communication , Research, Self-management and Social Interaction.
