The International School of Prague is a member of Global Online Academy (GOA), a consortium of leading independent schools from around the world whose online courses offer our students a way to pursue their passions, learn with peers from around the globe, and acquire independent learning skills that will serve them well in college, career and life.
GOA courses are our courses, taught by experienced faculty from renowned peer schools all over the world. These courses open up additional possibilities for students to study topics not currently available at ISP. They also allow students to connect with peers and educators around the world
ISP faculty also participate in GOA’s professional learning courses as they seek to continuously improve their practice.
About Global Online Academy
The mission of Global Online Academy is to reimagine learning to empower students and educators to thrive in a globally networked society.
GLOBAL ONLINE ACADEMY MEMBER SCHOOLS
There are more than 85 high-performing independent schools in the consortium, representing five continents, nearly 20 countries and more than 25 US states. All GOA courses are taught by teachers who are currently teaching at a GOA member school.
ABOUT GLOBAL ONLINE ACADEMY COURSES AND TEACHERS
Students take GOA courses for credit at the ISP, with the exception of summer courses. GOA course workload and course intensity is equivalent to courses taken on our campus. Unlike many online courses, students are not passive receptors of pre-recorded lectures from their teachers. Instead, students collaborate on challenging and interesting projects with students from around the world. They are also expected to manage their workload and time effectively to support the asynchronous nature of the courses.
GOA maintains excellence through rigorous teacher training, building on the best practices and values of leading independent schools — and by ensuring cohorts stay at a small size that fosters strong teacher-student relationships and student-to-student collaboration and interaction.
