Appointment of the next ISP Director – Dr. Chip Kimball

The ISP Board of Trustees, after an exhaustive and inclusive process, has appointed Dr. Chip Kimball as the next Director of ISP, effective July, 2021.

Dr. Kimball brings extensive experience as a leader to ISP. A progressive, experienced and impactful leader, he has held educational roles from Science Teacher and Chief Technology Officer early in his career, to his most recent experiences as Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore American School and Lake Washington School District,

Dr. Kimball has a track record of excellence and a commitment to effective change and improvement. Best known as an innovator and systems thinker, he is an expert in defining and executing effective strategies for exceptional performance. He holds a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.

In accepting the position, Dr. Kimball wrote, “It is a personal and professional honor to join the ISP community as your next Director. The International School of Prague is a phenomenal school, and I am incredibly excited about what we can do to further the school’s great work, ensuring that all ISP students experience positive life-changing possibilities.

“During my site visit in December I was deeply touched by the warmth of the ISP community. Thank you for sharing your pride in ISP alongside your aspirations for the future. I left Prague impressed with the capability of the ISP team, encouraged by students and parents, excited about the direction of ISP, and inspired by the aspirations of the ISP leadership and board.

“Most impressive is the mission of ISP that focuses on inspiring, engaging, and empowering learners. It is the commitment to realizing this mission that has me enamored with joining your community. Prague is one of the most exciting cities in the world, and ISP is positioned to be the educational thought leader in Europe and beyond.”

Everyone at ISP is profoundly thankful for Dr. Arnie Bieber’s dedication and service over what will be 13 years at ISP (our longest serving Director in ISP’s 75 year history!), and for positioning the school so well for the future. Dr. Bieber remains highly focused to Inspire, Engage and Empower our community during his remaining time at ISP.
