Construction Update

At ISP, we believe that great learning needs great spaces. Our facilities are more than just buildings—they act as a vital “third teacher”, shaping student experiences, supporting our educational philosophy, and helping us live our mission.

Mapping ISP’s Future, our Campus Facilities Roadmap, is a step-by-step plan to upgrade and transform our campus. Developed through a collaborative process with international design experts, local architects, and our school community, it focuses on what matters most: future-ready skills, innovation, well-being, and belonging.

The transformation began in summer 2025, with construction starting on key projects. By the 2026/27 school year, the Main Cafeteria will be fully renovated into a vibrant hub for dining and community connection. In 2027/28, we’ll open two major new spaces: a future-focused STEM Design & Innovation Centre and a dynamic Elementary Cafeteria & Multipurpose Space.

Preparatory Works

We're excited to share that construction began on schedule this summer, with groundwork for the new STEM Design & Innovation Centre—a space designed to spark creativity, curiosity, and collaboration for today’s learners and tomorrow’s leaders.

Please read the updates below for further details. Note that timelines may shift slightly due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

Footpath Closure Notices

As part of the upcoming construction for the STEM Design & Innovation Building, the footpath connecting Malá Šárka to Nebušická Street will undergo temporary modifications and restricted access.

What’s happening:

  • Temporary paving of the footpath with concrete panels to support construction access.

  • Installation of safety fencing reducing noise exposure and temporary closing the access from the adjacent gardens to this pathway.

Important access changes:

  • The footpath reopened to pedestrians on Friday, 28 November 2025, also restoring access from adjacent gardens. Please note that new metal steps have been added at the Malá Šárka end to improve access.

  • The footpath was closed to pedestrians during preparatory works (June–November 2025) and will close again throughout the main construction period (June 2026–August 2027).

  • Access from adjacent garden properties to the footpath will also be restricted during this time.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance our campus safely and responsibly.

Tennis Court Closure Notice

Beginning 16 June, the tennis courts will be closed to support construction of the STEM Design & Innovation Building. They will reopen in the 2027–28 school year, when the new facility is complete.

What This means for Our Community

Disruption: We’re keeping it minimal. Acoustic fencing and controlled site access will help shield daily learning.

Safety: Student safety remains our top priority—especially during play and transitions.

Communication: Real-time updates, schedules, and visual maps will be posted on our this webpage, and weekly reminders and updates will also appear in Parent Contact and other school communications.

Measures Taken to Minimize Disruption

  • Wooden construction to accelerate the building timeline.
  • Photovoltaics & heat pumps to support sustainability and minimize emissions.
  • Façade materials & components designed to reduce noise transmission.
  • Planting of new trees & greenery to serve as natural sound barriers.
  • Use of acoustic fencing during construction to mitigate noise impact.
  • Designated construction supply route along ISP property.
  • Careful planning of construction organization and scheduling.
  • Special focus on ensuring safety throughout the construction process.

Together, we are building learning spaces that Inspire, Engage, and Empower all learners to become Curious, Competent, Compassionate Changemakers.
